Super Star Saint Martin de Porres student honored by Archbishop Leonard P. Blair at the Annual Archbishop’s Columbus Day Breakfast.
Azucena, an 8th grader at Saint Martin de Porres Academy, excels academically; achieving high honors her entire middle school career. Azucena hopes to attend Sacred Heart Academy and to be a lawyer when she grows up. A real renaissance woman, Azucena plays the Flute, volleyball, is an avid reader and loves knitting. She was accepted into the highly competitive Pathfinder program at Hopkins. She is conscientious and a leader amongst her peers, exuding kindness and empathy. Azucena truly embodies the spirit of who Saint Martin de Porres was in every way.
Azucena was honored by Archbishop Blair at the Annual Archbishop’s Columbus Day Breakfast whose proceeds go to benefit Catholic elementary schools in the New Haven area, including Saint Martin de Porres Academy. We are very grateful for their funding and so proud of Azucena!
Congratulations, Azucena. (I don’t know why I am just learning about this honor now!) There is no question that you have been an outstanding student at SMPA. I hope you have a challenging and rewarding four years at Sacred Heart or Hopkins and then at college and beyond.
