Highlights from St. Martin’s

Last Thursday, we proudly shared our final concert with our amazing 8th graders—the Class of 2033—as they prepare to graduate and begin high school journeys. I can still picture each of their first days, and now here we are, reaching a beautiful milestone on their 12-year journey with us.

These young people are leaving us not just with memories, but with real musical skills—every single one of them can read music and play at least one instrument, many can play two or three! Their growth has been nothing short of extraordinary. Our students dream big and their goals are inspiring. They have new vocabularies and visions of their futures that include becoming an orthopedic surgeon, a victim’s rights attorney, forensic scientist, NASA mathematician, animator, and a cosmetologist.

Our hope for the future rests with our children and if our kids are any indication, the future is looking mighty bright! They remind us every day of what’s possible when children are supported, encouraged, and given room to shine.

What’s Happening Around Campus

It continues to be an exciting end to the school year at SMPA! 6th graders wrapped up their History unit on ancient Greece by participating in their own Olympic games! 5th graders headed to Quonnie in Rhode Island with the SMPA Social Work team for a Retreat Day spent at the Congregation of Notre Dame’s oceanfront retreat home. The entire school community spent 4-days at a nature camp in Cape Cod learning about ecology, participating in low ropes activities, team building exercises, ocean exploration and even going on a whale watch! And, our graduates will be going on a myriad of college campus tours with the Graduate Support Program throughout the summer. No shortage of opportunity!

This year, our superstar student tour guides rolled out the red carpet for more than 75 amazing visitors—and let us tell you, the energy was electric!

Each tour kicks off with our student ambassadors leading the way, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at life at St. Martin’s. From the heartwarming vibes of Morning Gathering to an inspiring chat with our fearless leaders—President Allison Rivera and Principal Dr. Kelly O’Leary—it’s a day to remember!

Tours return this September, and our students can’t wait to greet you with open arms and big smiles. Come see the magic for yourself—you’re always welcome at St. Martin de Porres Academy!
