If this sounds like YOUR dream job, you could be a teacher at St. Martin de Porres Academy. We are an independent Catholic school, part of a national network of 60+ NativityMiguel schools. Our students are in grades 5-8 from low-income families recruited from the Greater New Haven area who have been awarded a full scholarship to attend the Academy. Their parents pay no tuition but support the school through volunteer work. Our staff is augmented by community volunteers and paid interns from the Americorps program sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. All teachers must be college graduates and Connecticut certification is preferred, but not required. All teachers must submit to a formal background check.
