Thank you for your interest in St. Martin de Porres Academy. We were created to offer young people of the Greater New Haven area the opportunity to attend a tuition-free school with small classes - no larger than fifteen - in a faith-centered environment that will strive for outstanding academic achievement. It is our hope that upon graduation our students will be prepared to attend some of the area's best private high schools and, ultimately, become college graduates and strong, contributing members of our community.

In order to qualify for admission to St. Martin de Porres Academy, youngsters must qualify for free lunch in the National School Lunch Program. We expect our candidates to be of good character, have a strong motivation to achieve, good attendance at their previous school, and not presently enrolled in a Catholic school.

We encourage you to consider St. Martin de Porres for your young person. We are striving to create a school that is a partnership among family, school and student. Family involvement is a critical piece of this partnership. Parents, extended family, and guardians, are the child's first teachers, and they remain the most important teachers. This partnership will be fostered within a tradition of a strong commitment to faith as the foundation of life. We are a Catholic school and religion is an essential piece of our curriculum. Religious affiliation is not a criteria for acceptance at St. Martin de Porres Academy.

Once the application has been received, we will contact you to schedule an interview and give you an opportunity to see the school and meet the principal.
